How to order

KUROKOHAKU (below: “this product”) is a set item which includes "sake (kijoshu)" and "washi paper" in a "wooden box" (also includes a leaflet and certificate of authenticity). All products contain the same Japanese "sake/kijoshu" and "washi paper", but customers can choose from a variety of wooden boxes.

Each wooden box is cut individually from natural materials, so the wood grain, color, and appearance vary for each product. Also, the pictures may differ slightly from the actual items. Thank you for your understanding.

Payment

Please select either credit card payment (single installment) or bank wire transfer.

For bank wire transfers, you will receive an E-mail with the destination account information and instructions after you place your order. Please be aware that confirmation of payment may take up to a week at some times of the year. Thank you for your understanding.

Orders

Customers who have completed member registration can confirm their order history using the my page function.

Member registration

Member registration is required to use this service. Unregistered customers cannot use it, so please complete member registration on the ordering site.

Receipt

Please write “I would like a receipt” in the notes box on the payment page.

When the delivery and billing addresses differ

On the payment page, check the “Different billing address” box in the “Billing address” section and enter your billing address.

Sake (kijoshu)

This kijoshu was brewed by Kamogawa, a member organization of the Kijoshu Association located in Yamagata prefecture’s Shirakatamachi, over a three-year period starting in 1972. Records of this kijoshu are listed in a production report submitted to the tax agency for the local municipality to manage records of sake production.

In the past, Kamogawa experimented with small-batch production (no longer sold). Thereafter, following advice received from a former head of the National Tax Agency Brewing Testing Laboratory, the brewer researched the ideal maturing locations and temperatures, and Yamagata prefecture’s Kamogawa group has been storing this kijoshu in the ideal conditions ever since.

This product has no best by or expiration date. Store in the refrigerator or another appropriately cool and dark place, and avoid exposure to direct sunlight. If exposed by the UV rays of direct sunlight or fluorescent lights, the quality will rapidly degrade. Please be aware of this.

The accuracy of this kijoshu product information, as well as the product’s authenticity, are guaranteed by the brewer, Kamogawa.

Wooden box

The wooden box features a glass coating. If the box is exposed to water or other liquids, wipe it off with a dry cloth.

Washi paper

The accuracy of this washi paper product information, as well as the product’s authenticity, are guaranteed by the manufacturer, Miyama washi promotion and research center.

"KUROKOHAKU" and its components ("kijoshu", "washi paper", and "wooden box") are sold exclusively on the KUROKOHAKU website. These products are not sold directly by their manufacturers.
